Pod Coffee Maker

Pod Coffee Makers use pressurised water, which allows you to brew one or two cups of coffee at a time. Pod Coffee is different in that it needs ready to brew packets or pods of coffee so there is no measuring out of coffee grounds, and no need to use filters. Basically needles puncture the top and bottom of the coffee pods so water heated by the machine can be forced through the machine at high pressure. The pods are then discarded after use.  

Pod Coffee Makers do need to be cleaned regularly to make sure they work properly and also to get rid of boiler mineral make up, better known as descaling. You are recommended to do this every three months, or when you notice a significant increase in the time it takes to brew the perfect coffee.

If there is a problem with pod coffee makers then it is the fact that that you have to buy a particular coffee flavour or brand because they come in pods that work with the pod coffe maker you bought. 

Also the fact that they are pods, means they are more expensive than buying ground coffee, but having said that still a lot cheaper than their equivalent in a coffee shop. You do however need to realise that a coffee pod machine will probably only be able to use very specific coffee pods designed for that machine.
